Christmas Wardrobe.

So, my absolute FAVOURITE time of the year is fast approaching, and i could not be happier! Christmas represents (to me) everything good in the world!! Happiness, joy, decorations, flashing lights, glitter, parties, food, magic, presents! The list could go on, but i will save you the details. Anyway, i know most people complain about the freezing winds, cold days and blistering nights....i actually love Winter. I love Winter clothes! I have recently bought a new coat, and plenty of woolly jumpers to add to my collection (including a homemade one....Thanks Mum!). I have been searching for a completely ridiculous Christmas jumper for me and my Sister to wear, however, i want something completely individual, so it is my Christmas aim to make one. I will update on how i get on with this! for now here are some Winter goodies i have my eye on!

Day in the life....

A Fashion and Communication Student.
Today I've been talking to Amy Beadle, a Fashion Communication and Promotion student, from Nottingham Trent University. The course is fantastic, and Amy is such a creative and inspiring student, so i thought i would share her with everyone!
What do you like about your course?
I really love the amount of varied activities that we do. We do a touch on everything including journalism, typography, and plenty of work on Photoshop and illustrator; both programs which i love to play around with and have definitely become more familiar with since starting this course.
What do you want to be once graduated?
Once i have graduated i think i want to be more involved in graphic design. I would love to be a brand manager and really enjoy all aspects of learning about brands and what they stand for.
What do you like about Nottingham?
Living in Nottingham has been such a pleasure. Before starting Uni here, i knew its reputation, and there was a lot of teasing about crime etc, but i have just had the best time here. The style which people have here is really unique and i love the amount of vintage and retro shops they have here; something i am not used to back at home.
How would you describe your style?
I really think my style has developed since coming to university, and i now think that i really know my own sense of style and people would recognise it. I am not a typical girly girl, but i do like dressing up and wearing dresses and glitter when i feel like it! At the moment i am really into vintage sweatshirts and now its getting colder i love hats and cant wait to wrap up some more! I take advantage of the vintage shops here in Nottingham, and i do love Topshop and Urban Outfitters. One of my staple items currently are my American Apparel Disco pants....wear them everywhere!

Tumblin into tumblrrrrrrr!

Will social media and networking replace Magazines and publications?

The subject of fashion social media is one of is of great interest. Writing for a fashion website has given me insight into the fast paced environment which is social media. It is an extremely current topic and one which is growing and will continue to grow into the future. It is a quick and easy way of getting information to a mass market, of many different types of people. Some social media has to be sought out more than others, but on sites such as Twitter and Facebook, the range of people a piece of information could reach is huge. Magazines however and fashion publications are only specific to those who go out and buy them which could lead to information not being widely as spread.
If anyone has any interest in this topic, i would appreciate it hugely, if you could get in touch? Also, this survey will literally take about 1 minute to complete! If you do it, i promise to send cyber kisses too you all!

UNI

Hey pretty people.
Its literally been forever since ive been doing blogging....I have an excuse! I am extremely busy with Uni this year (wahhh!) I love my Fashion and Textile course, but in the near future im gunna be doing a placement year in industry. Very exciting stuff however, it does mean that I have been updating my CV like a maniac, and applying for jobs in an equally crazy way! So far nothing....But ive got high hopes, and so fingers crossed for something coming my way :) If any of you bloggies fancy giving me a job for a year? Let me know haha!
So Uni has not been as...how shall i put this...messy? as last year. This is predominantly down to the work volume, although i truely believe its got something to do with the fact that im growing in age, and simply cant handle the hangovers anymore! (currently recovering from a wild one on monday) Speaking of Monday night, probably one of the best nights of my life. Unfortunately can't go into too much detail as it does concern quite a few people in the public eye! Tight lipped but hugely excited!
Promise (this is a promise to myself as much as you lot) to update this slightly more often!
