CARA WHO???

As if you would need to ask this question!!! Cara Delevigne is EVERYWHERE. I mean literally i went into the city centre yesterday and she was on adds i never even knew about! Fair play though, she is properly gorgeous and has a real look about her. Her angelic youthful face is toughened up by those killer eyebrows! Im all for big eyebrows (less plucking=less pain=happier day) and they give her such an edge!
Her campaign for Zara is gorgeous. I love a bit of black and white (fitting with the ever occurring monochrome theme) and she looks stunning. Well done Zara, im sure she will help to sell tonnes of this collection!!

I love the Monochrome trend!
Black and white are hundred percent staples in most peoples wardrobes, especially mine! Black goes with anything, and white will brighten up your day! (As im writing this, white snow is falling outside my window, its absolutely brightening up my day!)
Marc Jacobs has been pioneering this trend with his SS13 collection. SO much 60's influence! I reckon i was born in the wrong era, 60's is right up my street, so im thrilled this is a trend!
Graphic prints are another fav or mine. Obviously the 1960's has been playing on designers minds for SS13, although i cannot complain!.

I love how easy it can be translated into the high street! This is a River Island shift dress. Gorgeous with a pair of black tights and black heels on a night out.

Back to uni!

I got back to uni yesterday after a loveeeeely xmas holidays. I'm really getting excited to get into this terms work including a research project on the effect blogs and online social media have on physical publications. I also have an interview lined up for my placement year, so exciting but quite nerve wracking! Fingers, toes and plaits crossed!
My new years resolution is to be a bit more visual with this blog. Start taking photos wherever i go, (I blame not doing this on the fact i don't have an Iphone....I am just making excuses as to a reason i should buy one!) Street style and different cities really inspire me and I should note this on my blog.
Im still writing for The Look Hit, and the first Fashion Festival went amazingly well, and heres to hoping there will be another soon!

I have also got into knitting and sewing again which i have really missed! Even made my very own retro Christmas jumper!!!

Christmas Wardrobe.

So, my absolute FAVOURITE time of the year is fast approaching, and i could not be happier! Christmas represents (to me) everything good in the world!! Happiness, joy, decorations, flashing lights, glitter, parties, food, magic, presents! The list could go on, but i will save you the details. Anyway, i know most people complain about the freezing winds, cold days and blistering nights....i actually love Winter. I love Winter clothes! I have recently bought a new coat, and plenty of woolly jumpers to add to my collection (including a homemade one....Thanks Mum!). I have been searching for a completely ridiculous Christmas jumper for me and my Sister to wear, however, i want something completely individual, so it is my Christmas aim to make one. I will update on how i get on with this! for now here are some Winter goodies i have my eye on!

Day in the life....

A Fashion and Communication Student.

Today I've been talking to Amy Beadle, a Fashion Communication and Promotion student, from Nottingham Trent University. The course is fantastic, and Amy is such a creative and inspiring student, so i thought i would share her with everyone!

What do you like about your course?

I really love the amount of varied activities that we do. We do a touch on everything including journalism, typography, and plenty of work on Photoshop and illustrator; both programs which i love to play around with and have definitely become more familiar with since starting this course. 

What do you want to be once graduated?

Once i have graduated i think i want to be more involved in graphic design. I would love to be a brand manager and really enjoy all aspects of learning about brands and what they stand for. 

What do you like about Nottingham?

Living in Nottingham has been such a pleasure. Before starting Uni here, i knew its reputation, and there was a lot of teasing about crime etc, but i have just had the best time here. The style which people have here is really unique and i love the amount of vintage and retro shops they have here; something i am not used to back at home. 

How would you describe your style?

I really think my style has developed since coming to university, and i now think that i really know my own sense of style and people would recognise it. I am not a typical girly girl, but i do like dressing up and wearing dresses and glitter when i feel like it! At the moment i am really into vintage sweatshirts and now its getting colder i love hats and cant wait to wrap up some more! I take advantage of the vintage shops here in Nottingham, and i do love Topshop and Urban Outfitters. One of my staple items currently are my American Apparel Disco pants....wear them everywhere!
